Sango has been temporarily disabled! Since the iPhone SDK has been announced, Sango has become obsolete. I will be rewriting the whole thing as an native app.

Read web pages on your offline iPhone!
It's super easy. Tap, and we mail it to you.

No registration whatsoever is required. You can start right now by generating your custom bookmarklet.

About this service

All you have to do is run the bookmarklet from the web page you want to save. Sango will automatically convert the page into PDF using the Webkit Framework and email it to you. Mail messages are stored on your iPhone so from then on, you can read your web pages even while you're offline. The PDF conversion is done using Webkit and Cocoa, and it properly parses viewport tags so they look just like the iPhone screen. And now with cookie support, you can even save pages that require logins.

Currently, requests are processed one at a time so your requests may take a while.

Updates

I've added support for cookies. (Re-bookmarking required)

I've added support for Japanese fonts. Yatta! (Re-bookmarking required)

Donations

Currently Sango is running on my Powerbook which is the only Mac I own. This means Sango will be down every time I crash my system or need to take my laptop to school. Your donations will be used towards buying a Mac mini so I can separate the server from my work machine.

Known Bugs

Sometimes sends multiple emails. Investigating.

digg.com doesn't work because bookmarklet doesn't run. Maybe bug in MobileSafari?

Some URLs causes the server software to crash. Still investigating.

Login fails for some sites.

Links don't work in PDF. Pretty much nothing I can do except pray for Apple to support it. Email contains link to the original page, so please use that.

ToDo

Multi threading support is near completion.

iPod touch support is comming.

Japanese interface.
